This decagon, a geometric shape with straight lines, appears to be even more dynamic and unstable than the famous hexagon around Saturn's north pole, which has been observed for over 40 years. The decagon was first spotted by the Hubble Space Telescope in 2023, suggesting it formed between 2017 and 2023 when Saturn's south pole was tilted away from Earth. As of now, it's still evolving, with one side already stretching over 10,000 miles. This discovery is significant because it highlights the hexagon's not-so-unique nature, as Saturn's ability to create polygonal cloud formations is a rare phenomenon in our solar system.
